Effective date: October 8, 2026. Last updated: November 5, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what information JR Secure Design (“JR Secure Design,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit jrsecuredesign.com (the “Site”), contact us, book a call, submit a pitch deck, or exchange text messages with us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It does not cover information we handle on behalf of clients under a separate client agreement; that information is governed by the agreement.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and inquiry details. When you email or call us, or fill out a contact form, we collect what you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, company, how you heard about us, your message, and whether you asked to receive our newsletter.
- Pitch deck submissions. When you use the Free Startup Pitch Deck Review form on our Startups page, we receive the PDF file you upload (up to 10 MB) and any information it contains, such as company details, financials, team information, and contact details.
- Strategy call bookings. Our “Book a Strategy Call” buttons take you to Calendly, a third-party scheduling service. Calendly collects the details you enter there (for example, your name, email address, and answers to booking questions) and shares them with us so we can hold the meeting.
- Client and project information. If you become a client of our fractional advisory, build/IT, web, security, or AI services, we collect the information needed to deliver the work and bill for it, as described in your client agreement.
- Mobile and text messaging information. If you give us your mobile phone number and agree to receive text messages (SMS) from us, we collect your phone number, a record of your consent (such as when and how you opted in), your opt-out requests, and the content of the text messages we exchange. We use this information only to communicate with you by text as described in Section 6.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through the Google Site Kit plugin) to understand how visitors use the Site, such as pages viewed, time on page, referring sites, approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this. We also use Google Search Console and PageSpeed Insights to see how the Site performs in search and how fast it loads; these tools give us aggregated reports.
- Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider and security tools automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time of the request. We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
- Spam and abuse protection. Our forms use spam-prevention tools, including a hidden “honeypot” field and, where enabled, Google reCAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google to check that a real person is using the form.
- Fonts and embedded resources. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser loads these files, your IP address and browser information are sent to Google.
2. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Site uses:
- Essential cookies that make the Site and its forms work and that keep the Site secure (for example, cookies set by WordPress for logged-in administrators and by our caching and security tools).
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (for example, cookies beginning with
_ga) to distinguish visitors and measure Site usage. - Third-party cookies set by services you choose to interact with, such as Calendly when you book a call, or Google when reCAPTCHA runs.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your questions and requests, and to schedule and hold strategy calls.
- To send you text messages you have agreed to receive, and to honor your opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) requests.
- To review pitch decks you submit and provide feedback.
- To provide, manage, and bill for services you engage us for.
- To send newsletters or marketing emails if you asked to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve our content and services.
- To protect the Site, our business, and our users from spam, fraud, and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Pitch decks and confidential business information
We know pitch decks often contain sensitive business information. Pitch deck submissions are delivered to our team by email and are used only to review your deck and give feedback. We will not sell your deck or share it outside JR Secure Design without your permission, except with service providers that help us operate (such as our email provider) or where required by law. Please do not include information you are not comfortable sharing, such as personal financial account numbers or government ID numbers. See our Terms of Service for more about submissions.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to run our business, including with:
- Service providers who process information for us, such as our website hosting provider, email providers, Google (Analytics, Search Console, Fonts, and reCAPTCHA), Calendly (scheduling), our business phone and text messaging provider (to deliver calls and text messages), and, if you subscribe, our newsletter/email marketing provider. They may use the information only to provide their services to us or as described in their own privacy policies.
- Professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, under duties of confidentiality.
- Legal and safety recipients, when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of JR Secure Design, our clients, or others.
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- Anyone else with your consent.
Mobile information and text messaging consent. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Links to other sites, such as Calendly, Facebook, and LinkedIn, are governed by those sites’ privacy policies, not this one.
6. SMS / text messaging terms
Program description
By providing your mobile phone number and agreeing to receive text messages, you consent to receive SMS messages from JR Secure Design related to your inquiry, scheduling calls you request, and updates and support for services you have engaged us for. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of buying any service, and you can opt out at any time.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from us. After you opt out, you will receive a confirmation message, and we will stop sending text messages to your number. If you later want to receive text messages from us again, email us at sales@jrsdi.com.
Help and support
For help, reply HELP to any text message you receive from us, or contact us at sales@jrsdi.com or (202) 892-7189.
Privacy of your mobile information
Your phone number will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. AI tools
When we use AI in our services, our approach is to keep client data private and under the client’s control. We do not use the personal information you submit through the Site to train public AI models.
8. How long we keep information
- Inquiries, emails, and pitch deck submissions: as long as needed to respond and review, and then for a reasonable period for our records, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Client records: for the length of the engagement and as long afterward as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics account.
Our contact forms deliver submissions by email; the form plugin does not keep a separate copy in the website database, and uploaded files are removed from the web server after they are emailed to us.
9. How we protect information
Security is central to what we do. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, spam and abuse protection, and keeping our software up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Opt out of marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link or contact us).
- Opt out of text messages by replying STOP to any text message from us.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share it as those terms are defined by California law).
- If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland: object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email sales@jrsdi.com or call (202) 892-7189. We will verify your request using information we already have (for example, by confirming your email address) and respond within the time required by law (generally within 30 days for GDPR-style requests and 45 days for California requests). You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of their authority.
For GDPR purposes, we generally rely on these legal bases: your consent (for example, newsletters and non-essential cookies), steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing our business and responding to inquiries, and compliance with legal obligations. JR Secure Design is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed in the United States.
11. Children’s privacy
The Site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
